It’s been just 12 days since our last #ComeOut4EU European elections scoreboard update, and we’ve seen over double the number of signatures from 182 to 385!

For those of you just tuning in, our scoreboard is based on the number of European Parliament candidates who have signed our ComeOut pledge committing to supporting human rights & LGBTI equality!

Germany have jumped into the lead with 59 signatures! The Netherlands  are now in second place, with a strong 42 signatures, followed by Sweden now third place at 30.

There have been a number of big jumps – Latvia has leaped from 0 to 20 signatures, Hungary from 1 to 25, Luxembourg  from 3 to 19 and Poland from 7 to 25!

The United Kingdom also joins us, with two signatures from rerunning MEPs Seb Dance and Julie Ward to get the ball rolling!

EU groups – Who’s in the lead?

Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament (S&D) have taken the lead with 117 signatures, while Greens/EFA are just behind with 89.

Speaking of which, since our last update, lead Common Candidates #Spitzenkandidaten for S&D Frans Timmermans and Greens/EFA Bas Eickhout signed, joining Ska Keller!

ALDE, GUE/NGL and Independents are doing well, though we hope to see more EPP candidates – the highest and currently largest projected party stands with the least amount of signatures so far.

With campaigning truly kicking off, perhaps we’ll start to see more support flood in!

We have just 36 days to go! Who will stand up next and publicly #ComeOut4EU and commit to supporting human rights and #LGBTI equality? Tune in to find out!
